The concept of performance art became of interest to me my first year of college. There is a risk to any act of creation relative to the possibility of innovation. Performance anxiety is a natural part of caring how you relate to others. Thinking about how your body is behaving with the appropriate feeling can be quite a balancing act. Performance art has the potential to tune into some of the most powerful aspects of life.
The study of behavior can lead to more contentment with less emotional disturbance. There is so little we can be sure of. A medical career is the practice of medicines. Lawyers practice law. The need to succeed (or win) has to be devalued and related to how much rehearsal has been invested into each act. Like any good production (play) the need for a meaningful struggle (bad guy) has to be appreciated as the exercise from which we support our (good) influences. The acceptance of the inevitable makes the surprise factor more enjoyable. Prejudice can cash in that bonus prematurely. Insight is worth risking!
